Project Overview

This Monmouth Beach, NJ project turned a plain waterfront backyard into a finished outdoor living space that flows from the raised deck down to the water. Scenic View Landscaping handled both the hardscaping and the landscaping, so the patio, walkway, planting beds, lawn, and lighting were designed and built as one cohesive plan.

The project includes a paver patio set in a herringbone pattern, a bluestone stepping stone walkway, curved planting beds, new sod, front yard foundation plantings with paver edging, and landscape lighting throughout.

Waterfront Backyard Design and Layout

The paver patio sits directly below the deck stairs, creating a ground-level lounge that connects the house to the yard. A fire table with four lounge chairs anchors the space, and a picnic table area near the deck adds a spot for casual dining.

From the patio, a bluestone stepping stone path runs along the side of the house toward the front, while the lawn opens up toward the bulkhead and water view. Curved planting beds wrap the patio corner and the waterfront fence line, softening the straight edges of the hardscape and drawing the eye toward the water.
